The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence is to publish 4 volumes in English and one volume in Greek containing the proceedings of its 15 conferences and its research results. The volumes concern:
Students who wish to help in the correction of the footnotes and the correction of the use of the English language can declare their interest for the internship at the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the University of Macedonia (unpaid), by sending an email with the title “praktiki askisi Jean Monnet” at despinaanagnostopoulou@yahoo.com, with a resume attached, if possible, by Friday 5 April 2019, at 13.00.
Positions are for at least 5 students from the University of Macedonia, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (in particular Departments of Law and English Literature), or other Universities that are fluent in English (Proficiency level).
The practical test (translation from Greek to English) and the interview will take place on Friday, April 5 at 13.30 at Office 321 B, Third Floor, KZ Tower, University of Macedonia.
The conditions of the internship are as follows:
The internship is unpaid. The internship lasts approximately 2 months from April 5th to May 30th, 2019 and is compatible with the schedule of each student (e.g. absent due to MUN, or foreign language exams). There is a 15 day trial period. Volunteer employment is 12 hours a week.
In case of unreasonable and continuous neglect of duties, the internship will be terminated and no internship certificate will be awarded. The internship can be conducted electronically and will include attendance at the University of Macedonia at least once a week.
The internship includes the following:
(a) the support of the editors in the linguistic editing of English language texts and / or
(b) transcript (can be done electronically) and text correction in the English language and / or
(c) the process of proof reading of spelling and typographical errors and the uniformity of footnotes.
At the end of the internship, if successfully conducted, an appropriate certificate in the English language will be awarded for each use. Interns will improve English terminology and gain experience in publishing written texts.
